Since 2016 I have been assisting couples to design their unique wedding services. We will meet either virtually or in person to discuss who you are as a couple and how best to express your needs and values through a custom designed wedding service. What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We will meet either virtually or in person for a casual conversation about who you are and what you are looking for in a service. I will walk you through the legal paperwork and information on changing your name. I will then share resources and drafts of your wedding service with you via email. The day of your service I will consult with your wedding planner, or whoever is designated as such, to get everything set up. Then, you and I will do a quick walk thorough of the service before the ceremony.

How long to the services typically take?
That is up to you! We will build you a unique service that reflects who you are as a couple. Generally, without music, the services usually last between 15-20 minutes. With music, the services usually last between 30-45 minutes. Also, things like readings will naturally add more time.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am an ordained minister and have earned a Master of Divinity degree. I have experience in both congregational ministry and chaplaincy. In both settings I have gained experience in pre-marriage counseling, officiating and designing services. I am also a member of OBOD.

How did you get started doing this type of work?
I began this type of work in 2016 while in graduate school for ministry. I fell in love with helping people prepare themselves for marriage. I have also been to a lot of weddings with very poor services. Your service should be the cherry on top of the cake that is your wedding day. There is nothing worse than spending a bunch of money on a wedding only to have it stained by a subpar and unprofessional service. Again, I have seen this play out over and over. Do not let this happen to you!

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Do you want to write your own vows? Do you want people (other than the 3 of us) to participate? Do you want music? Do you want readings?
